Vagabondaggio in Madera

28 soci del Cai di Pinerolo dal 6 a 14 di settembre 2008 hanno vagabondato per l'isola di Madera da est ad ovest lungo la dorsale montagnosa, accompagnati dalle competenti e disponibili guide Isabel e João Nunes. Molte cose delle varietà paesaggistiche di quest'isola lontana hanno potuto godere: il tenebroso oceano atlantico, le coste dirupate, le verdi levadas, la mediterranea flora costiera, l'originaria foresta di lauracee, le vestigia delle opere degli antichi agricoltori, la cavalcata sulle creste aere dei picchi (per non parlare dei bagni in piscine e jacuzzi).

Speriamo che ognuno dei partecipanti ne abbia ricavato un ricordo incantevole che non si estingua troppo presto sotto i colpi dell'obsolescenza senile.

On 6-14 September, 28 members of the Italian Alpine Club wandered around the Island of Madeira from East to West along the mountain ridge. They were accompanied by Isabel and João Nunes, their extremely efficient and always helpful guides. The group had the opportunity to enjoy many of the precious beauties reserved to this island: the gloomy waves of the Atlantic ocean breaking against the rugged cliffs of the island, the green levadas turning abruptly into forlorn peaks, the ancient forests and lush flora of the coastline hiding the remains of ancient agricultural activities.
We hope the participants will always remember such an enchanting adventure in contact with nature (including the slightly more civilised – but still rather enjoyable - moments by the pool and in the jacuzzi!).
